Step 1 – contact us with your enquiry. Tell us which orangutan trip you are interested in, how many people are travelling (give ages if under 18 year olds), and when you’re looking to go. If you wish to request a certain guide, we will do our best to accommodate your wishes, but please understand that on rare occasions we may need to change your guide last minute due to their personal circumstances, such as illness, last minute celebrations etc.
N.B. Local staff will be taking an annual holiday from 24th June to 1st July 2017. The last start date for a 4 day tour (ending at midday) before this, would be 20th June, or 21st June for a 3 day tour.
Step 2 – receive a quote back from us, detailing prices and what’s included, and look over it. Contact us with any further questions about the trip.
Step 3 – contact us if you wish to book the trip, and to arrange paying your deposit to reserve your tour. At this time we would need some booking information from you.
Step 4 – receive an updated invoice, detailing how much is left to pay, and when you need to complete the payment. You will also receive a liability waiver with your invoice, which needs to be signed and given to your guide at the start of your tour. If you would like to see a copy of the waiver before booking a tour, please request one.
Step 5 – Once travel is confirmed, an itinerary and pre-departure pack will be sent to you, with all contact details and arrangements set out for your tour.
Step 6 – travel to Pangkalan Bun. Be met at the airport by your guide.
Step 7 – enjoy your Borneo orangutan wildlife trip!
Terms and conditions of booking
If you wish to change the date of a tour before it starts, within a month of your tour, there will be a charge of £15.00 per booking. There will be no charge for date changes prior to a month before your tour, but please understand that it may not be possible to change dates if we are given short notice, or in the high season.
If you wish to cancel a tour within 1 week of the tour starting, then the charge is 100% of your total tour price, and you would receive no refund.
If you wish to cancel a tour earlier than 1 week of the tour starting, then the charge will be 100% of your deposit (25% of total tour price). If you have paid in full, then you would receive a refund of 75% of your total tour price.
We cannot accept responsibility for any missed flights as a result of late check-ins and no refunds will be given if you fail to arrive in Pangkalan Bun as you have arranged.
If your travel arrangements to Pangkalan Bun change due to matters out of your control (flight cancellation for example), we will do our best to rearrange your tour for the next available flight arrival – but we cannot guarantee that that this will be possible. You would not receive any refund for your lost day.
If you miss your first day of your tour, but wish to extend by a day (when possible), you would be charged full price for your extra day. If it is not possible to extend your tour, and due to having a shortened tour you decide to cancel, you would need to rely on your travel insurance to cover your losses, as this would be classed as a last minute cancellation, with no refund given.
In the unlikely event that we have no alternative but to cancel a tour, for reasons out of our control, then you would receive a full refund of any monies paid.
It is your responsibility to check current passport and visa requirements with the Indonesian Embassy before booking.
It is your responsibility to obtain all documents required for your stay in Indonesia, to ensure that these are in proper order and to take them with you. We will not be liable if you fail to do so and you will be responsible for meeting any additional costs incurred by reason of such failure.
It is essential that you take out your own comprehensive travel insurance to cover your tour.
We hold no responsibility for any personal accidents or illness which occur while on your klotok, or in the National Park. You take a tour at your own risk.
We advise you to see your health professional before travelling to make sure that you have taken all the necessary health precautions
All baggage and personal effects are at all times your own responsibility.
If the behaviour of any member of any party is considered likely to cause offence, danger, damage or distress to others, we reserve the right at all times to cancel or terminate a tour completely. If, for example, any tour staff considers that the behaviour is unacceptable, they are authorised to terminate a tour wherever and whenever necessary. If this situation arises, we will not be obliged to cover any expenses incurred by the party concerned and neither will we consider any claims for compensation or refunds whatsoever. We will also be within our rights to impose cancellation fees.
